Self-Leveling Rescue Ladders
Description
55-meter rescue ladder’s specialized control system
The Egyptian General Administration of Civil Defense is tasked with the most demanding emergency missions—firefighting, high-rise rescues, and bomb disposal. When their 55-meter rescue ladder’s specialized control system became unsupportable due to spare parts scarcity, they turned to us in 2014 for a groundbreaking solution. The ladder was not only massive in scale, but also featured self-leveling and self-stabilizing capabilities that required extreme precision and fault-proof operation. The heart of the system was a highly specialized PLC program capable of handling complex safety interlocks, motion limits, and dynamic load stabilization. Most importantly, it passed all government safety certifications—validating its performance in real-world rescue scenarios.
Following the success of this first-of-its-kind project, the Egyptian Civil Defense commissioned a second retrofit in 2017, this time for a 52-meter self-leveling rescue ladder, using the same advanced approach. Both projects stand as milestones in Egyptian industrial engineering, demonstrating how local expertise can meet—and exceed—global safety and performance standards in life-critical systems.
